Celesti – February 2017
Back in November I discovered a new type of beauty box. It was completely random. I was scrolling through Facebook and stumbled on an ad from Celesti promising great beauty products every month. Not long ago, I stopped my subscription to Goodiebox, not because I didn’t like that box, but I just felt like I got too many creams, hairspray etc. which I wasn’t using, so basically the majority of the content in the box wasn’t put to good use. However, since Celesti was so brand new back in November it was really hard to get a box for the reason that their boxes were limited to a number of subscribers. I tried the first month, but it was impossible to get one, so I just gave it and stopped thinking about it. That was until the beginning of January, where I got an email from Celesti saying that they’re opening a new round for potential subscribers, so I decided to sign up. Now, since it was the beginning of January I had to wait a month for the box to arrive. February came and so did my box.
The first thing that I noticed was the cute makeup bag that came with all the things. It was pink, which is February’s theme. This month focuses on finding your inner feminine girly girl, which I quite liked. With each box you get five items based on your answers from the beauty quiz. In case, you’re wondering what the beauty quiz is about it’s basically different questions you have to answer in order for them to find the right product for you. The questions are about skin type, favorite brands, hair type etc.
The first thing that I grabbed from the bag was New Cid Cosmetics foundation primer. It has a pump and the texture feels quite like a serum. It’s oil free and suits all skin types. According to the label, it helps the foundation stay on all day long and help produce new skin cells. In order for your foundation to stay on well and get a smooth finish it’s important to put on a moisturizing cream first. I haven’t tried this product out myself, but just by swatching it on my hand it feels light and smooth.
The next thing that I got is the Cailyn Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in the color Narcissist. I swatched this on my hand and there’s only one word for it. Wow. This stuff literally doesn’t come off. It’s so pigmented and is a light pink/nude color with a little bit of sparkles in it, which is perfect for special occasions and everyday use as well.
I’m not a fan of capsule serums, maybe because I haven’t tried them out yet, but that’s all about to change. I watched a video on Celesti’s website where they showed a video on how you can use the different products. They came up with an idea where you can use the serum on a beauty blender and then blend bronzer and concealer with it. I’ve never thought of that and can’t wait to try it out, such an interesting idea.
It’s only during the end of 2016 that I finally decided to use a toner in my skincare routine. It has made such a difference and now I can’t live without it. I received this one from the brand Pixi called ‘Glow Tonic,’ I haven’t used it yet, but what’s great about this one is that it’s alcohol free, so it won’t dry my skin out.
Last, but definitely not least is the Luxie Beauty large shader brush in the number 209. I’ve been wanting to buy one for blending some creamy eyeshadows, so the fact that I got it in this box was just great. It’s really soft and blends smoothly. And it’s pink.
Celesti is definitely something I will continue subscribing to as I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this months products. Also, the fact that it came with a makeup bag makes it so convenient, you literally just throw your things in there and you’re good to go. Celesti is only available in Denmark and can be ordered through celesti.dk.
